Rescue & Rehab
The reality is it isn’t easy, but…
We love it. We wouldn’t do what we do if we didn’t 100% believe that it gives primates the best chance to enjoy freedom, love and community the way nature intended.
We are open from 6am- 9pm, seven days per week & holidays:
- Assisting during call-outs
- Rescuing orphaned baby primates
- Rescuing ex-pets for rehabilitation & release
- Assisting motor vehicle drivers should an accident occur
Call-out Rescues
If areas are not safe to visit alone, we will get assistance from the local SAPS.
All call-outs are done between the hours of 6 am to 9 pm, seven days a week and public holidays.
All rescues that require veterinary care are placed inside a travel crate and taken directly to a licensed veterinary hospital for treatment. Once the adult primate is able to be released, we will release him or her back to where it was found. This is done in the most timely matter, to avoid imprinting and stress.
Those that cannot be released will be humanely euthanized.
Orphaned primates will be cared for and rehabilitated until they are healthy enough to travel to join a release program.
